Laura joined Williford Houston & Co., CPAs in February 2012. She is responsible for preparing tax returns and supporting workpapers as needed, assisting clients with clearing up IRS notices, and software training.
Laura has experience in personal financial counseling for military members, having spent 20 years as a military spouse, now a retired spouse. She understands firsthand some of the unique personal and financial challenges of military family life.
Before joining the firm, Laura did internal auditing, industry accounting, tax preparation, related small business audits and compilations with various firms in North Carolina, Texas, Nebraska, Georgia and Florida.
Laura earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from UNC-CH. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
In her time away from the office, Laura enjoys running and fitness, animal rescue, traveling, raising a teen and preteen, and serving in her church and children's school.
